While I am an experienced cook, I've NEVER done canning! I didn't grow up in a family that did canning, so I had no prior learning or experience. Jami's book was all I needed. Her recipes, tips, and step-by-step directions all set the stage for what turned out to be 60 pints of canned salsa. I used both the Salsa Verde and the Best Thick Salsa recipes. For two batches, I decided to first smoke the tomatoes, onions and hot peppers for a couple hours before proceeding. Jami's book EASY WATER BATH CANNING, gave me the confidence to can what I grew in my garden. I'm already looking forward to next year's harvest. You can bet that I'll be trying more of Jami's recipes. If you're like me and have never canned before, this book will make it simple and you'll be hooked. Highly recommend!
